MICHAEL MARTIN MURPHEY'S BUCKAROO BLUE GRASS ALBUM REACHES NO. 1 !

Michael Martin Murphey's BUCKAROO BLUE GRASS on Rural Rhythm Records reached the No. 1 position on the Roots Music Report's Top 50 Bluegrass Charts the week of November 1st, 2009! Buckaroo Blue Grass is receiving a significant number of spins on radio, triggering brisk sales confirmed by Soundscan.

In a statement made from his ranch in Amarillo, Texas, in reaction to the news of the No.1 position, Michael said, "This would not have been possible without the great production job by son, Ryan Murphey, the excellence of the players on the tracks- Pat Flynn (guitar), Ryan Murphey (guitar) Sam Bush (mandolin), Ronnie McCoury (mandolin), Rob Ickes (dobro), Craig Nelson (bass), Charlie Cushman (banjo), and Andy Leftwich (fiddle).

Michael just completed 4 sold-out performances at the Heber City Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Heber City, Utah, with material from BUCKAROO BLUE GRASS figuring heavily in the mix. His performances included a show with the Utah Valley Symphony Orchestra and his Rio Grande Band (Gary Roller and David Coe with special guest Pat Flynn), a "Cowcamp Stage" performance with the Rio Grande Band, a Buckaroo Ball performance in which thousands danced to the Rio Grande Band - and a solo acoustic performance with Waddie Mitchell and Don Edwards in a format that has become legendary, called "The Three Amigos". Michael also made multiple appearances on Salt Lake City television and radio in support Heber City Cowboy Poetry Gathering.
